So Much For My Theory

Oh, well. So much for this theory.

I'll have a wrap-up on "Predicting The Visual Effects Oscar" sometime next week, when I'm done wiping away the tears.

Remember the chocolate sundae graphic, Todd. Remember the graphic!

Congratulations to "The Golden Compass" team: Michael Fink, Bill Westenhofer, Ben Morris and Trevor Wood for their Academy Award win.

Read Part 5 of "Predicting the Visual Effects Oscar."

    I'm still in shock,
HOW oh how did GC even make the list with that FUGLY golden Monkey, maybe if ILM threw a talking furry piece of crap into Transformers the Academy would've voted for them too... The Academy proves once again they are out of touch with reality, this goes up there with Babe Vs Apollo 13 I mean really?... Babe?

Naah, it's not an ILM thing. I'd bet you a kajillion dollars if more than 1/2 of the voting Academy knows what ILM is, much less tell you which particular films ILM worked on.

    How?

Trust me, Bay has some big plans for "Trans 2" and we will certainly be ready for it.

And if you're specifically talking about an Oscar for "Trans 2," which is beyond crazy to even be thinking about, remember that it is not unheard-of for a sequel to win the Academy Award after the first film was nominated (but did not win). 2006 "Pirates 2," 2004 "Spider-Man 2," 1991 "Terminator 2" (okay, so the first film wasn't even nominated, but you get the idea).

I really don't care about an oscar for Transformers 2. I just want a cool movie with great fx.

Oh wait, then why am I posting?

    ILM was robbed! :p

Hi Todd, compliments for your work to begin.

Honestly i don't know why they gave the oscar to GC. Even if they didn't want to give the award to a micheal bay movie, they ,at least, had to recognize the stunning work on pirates 3. But golden compass was really the last film of the bunch that deserved to win.

i hope transformers 2 will win, but it will be very difficult since the same year will be released Avatar, the james cameron film.
